Introducing PlayStation®Store Video Store

This website requires Flash Player 7 or higher.

It looks like you do not have this installed.

Visit the Adobe website to download the latest version of player..

Download Standard and High Definition movies to your PS3 and PSP.

With the Video Store you can enjoy a whole world of entertainment on your PlayStation 3 and PSP including the latest blockbusters and timeless classics by downloading movies for rental or purchase.

Welcome to a world of movies

The Video Store enables you to experience a huge variety of movies, when you want them and how you want them, be it a rental or purchase in High Definition or Standard Definition. Not only can you enjoy both new and classic releases on your PS3, you can also watch them on the go with PSP.

With thousands of movies already and new titles being added each week from studios including 20th Century Fox, Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, Lionsgate, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM), Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Starz Media, Universal and Warner Bros, you're never short of entertainment on your PlayStation 3 or PSP.

Watch while you download

Depending on bandwidth and file size it takes approximately one hour to download an SD movie from the Video Store, and approximately three hours for an HD movie. HD movies are about 8GB in size and SD movies are roughly 2GB, and the great thing is, movies can be viewed as soon as the download begins thanks to the Video Store's progressive download feature.

Viewing time

If you rent a movie, the rental period will start as soon as you begin viewing, even if you begin watching it and the download has not been completed. If you have bought the movie, you can watch it as many times as you want. When renting, it will be stored on your PS3 or PSP for 14 days until playback has started. Once that begins, you have a full 48 hours to enjoy the film as much as you want. If, however, you do not view it within the allotted 14 days it will no longer be available to you unless you purchase another copy.

Play while you download

The Video Store features progressive downloading which allows for viewing shortly after the downloading process begins. This also means you can enjoy other entertainment via the PS3 system while content is being downloaded in the background.

Movies on your PSP

The Video Store is also available on PSP. If you are downloading straight to PSP it can take up to two hours for a movie to download, so the fastest way for you to enjoy your content is to transfer it to your PSP via your PS3 or PC. That means the average time for a download from your PS3 or Media Go on your PC to PSP can be just 45 minutes for an SD movie. You can also purchase content and download movies via Remote Play but cannot view content remotely.

From PS3 to PSP

To transfer a movie from PS3 to PSP, you need to sign in to your PlayStation Network account from your PS3 and connect a USB cable from your PS3 to your PSP. Once the movie is transferred, you won't be able to view it again on your PlayStation 3 unless you transfer it back to the PS3 system from your PSP. Only Standard Definition movies downloaded to your PS3 can be transferred and played on your PSP.
