Even if you are using a video output cable that does not support video in progressive mode (a cable that supports video in interlace mode only), you can watch video from PlayStation format software in full-screen size on your TV.

Cables that can be used to output video from PlayStation format software

With earlier versions of the system software (pre-5.00):

  • Component AV cable (progressive mode)

With system software version 5.00:

  • Component AV cable (progressive mode)
  • S VIDEO cable (interlace mode)
  • AV cable (interlace mode)

Hints

  • When playing PSP format software such as UMD games, video content cannot be output in full-screen size or in interlace mode.
  • PSP-3000 series systems output video from PlayStation format software in full-screen size by default.
