PSP®

Stephane Hareau, SCEE's European Marketing Manager for PSP, gives his thoughts on Slim & Lite and Go!Explore.

Can you tell us more about PSP Slim & Lite?

PSP Slim & Lite is a natural design evolution for the PSP system. Our engineers achieved the challenge of reducing the weight of PSP by more than 30 percent and the thickness by almost 20 percent, which is amazing.

This new model also includes a video output which means that your PSP can now be connected to a TV, enabling you to play, share and watch your games, videos and photos on a TV. The speaker location has also been improved providing an even better sound experience than before. PSP Slim & Lite will be available in two colours at launch - Piano Black and the unique Ice Silver colour.

How does the new GPS device for PSP work?

Go!Explore is the GPS navigation software for PSP. It brings a unique GPS in-car and pedestrian navigation experience to PSP. It will be composed of a USB GPS receiver and a UMD with the maps of your respective country. In the near future, PSP users will also be able to download map upgrades, new maps and additional features directly to their Memory Stick Duo.

It will also deliver innovative features such as 2D/3D maps, landmarks, smart keyboard and thousands of points of interest such as bars, clubs, restaurants, hotels and more. Go!Explore is definitely a must have for all PSP owners on the move.

What about the Limited Editions, Simpsons and Spider-Man?

We really wanted to go beyond the conventional software bundles of PSP plus a game. This is what these Limited Editions are doing.

They are PSP colours which will only be available for a limited time in the SCEE regions, making them almost like collectors editions. Spider-Man and Simpsons are the hottest intellectual properties in the entertainment industry with so many fans around the world. We have worked with Activision and EA to make these Limited Editions really unique.

The Spider-Man Limited Edition will be Red and Black, representing the good and the dark side within all of us. The Simpsons Limited Edition will be a very fresh and funky Yellow and White. They will all include the Spider-Man 3 or Simpsons Game, plus additional unique downloads.
