Rainbow Six Vegas wins big on PSP
Ubisoft's long-running squad shooter makes a suitably slick transition to the portable world.
The Rainbow Six series has always captured the imagination, plunging players into dramatic, high-stake situations where only a cool head and a good aim will win out. Happily, the arrival of Rainbow Six Vegas on PSP means it's now possible to experience the door-breaching, room-clearing thrills wherever you are.
As the title suggests, the action takes place in and around Las Vegas, bringing some extra glitz to proceedings. There's no time for roulette and fancy cabaret here, though: two members of Team Rainbow have been abducted, and two more are going into action in a bid to rescue them.
Once in the field, the game is as fun to play as you would expect. A full range of weaponry and equipment allows you to plan and execute your actions with all the swift professionalism of... well, a heavily armed counter-terrorism unit. It's satisfying stuff, and sure to go down a storm with fans of the series.
Besides the main single player missions, the game supports both Ad Hoc and Infrastructure Mode multiplayer modes, which offer a variety of compelling and unpredictable skirmishes across six classic maps. All in all, it makes for another excellent outing for Clancy fans.
