Cosmos versus Chaos

Presentation

Cosmos versus Chaos

Harmony and discord clash once more in DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY for PSP, as the gods Cosmos and Chaos struggle against each other in an eternal cycle of life, death and rebirth.

The warring gods call upon the heroes and villains of the FINAL FANTASY series to try to tip the scales in their favour, in a superbly rewarding hybrid of the fighting and role-playing genres. It's a classic battle of light against dark, an endless fight which these FINAL FANTASY stars have decided to finish once and for all.

Drama is handled with effortless style – smooth cutscenes dazzle, dialogue bristles with age-old rivalries and the combat itself reflects the highly individual techniques favoured by each member of this glittering cast.

Master the challenge of the gods to unearth a game of incredible depth. Not only are there countless special attacks and costumes to unlock for each of the 30-plus characters, but the entire Campaign Mode of DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY, the forerunner to this game, is included as a truly staggering bonus.

Fusing an unforgettable cast with a torrent of special features, DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY is a must-have for your PSP.

Answering the call

Characters

Answering the call

How would you approach the battle to end all battles? What reserves would you draw on to see you through to the savage end? These are the questions you must consider before striking out on the long road to salvation in DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY.

Shift between the highly specialised commando skills of Lightning, star of FINAL FANTASY XIII, using the L and R buttons, and utilise a fighting style for every situation. Kain Highwind, of FINAL FANTASY IV fame, is just as deadly, being an ace at turbocharged aerial combat.

Opt for Gilgamesh, the eight-armed warrior from FINAL FANTASY V, and you have a truly intimidating brawler able to wield multiple weapons at once. And if you go for Vaan, the sky pirate at the centre of FINAL FANTASY XII, you'll see that fierce bravery burns beneath a much less frightening exterior.

Fantastic variety is provided by the return of all 24 characters from DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY, each of whom receives additional costumes and tweaked abilities. Along with nine newcomers, every fan is catered for. Select your hero, learn their strengths and defeat Chaos to bring peace to the universe at long last.

Bravery under fire

Gameplay

Bravery under fire

Go head-to-head with deadly foes hand-picked by the god of mayhem, Chaos, in DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY for PSP.

Confrontation awaits you at every step of your journey, as you take on Chaos's carefully chosen warriors one by one. A vast world of colour and intrigue has been created for you to navigate. Speak to settlers and search for hidden items to give you the upper hand before each increasingly intense battle – the welcome change in pace will help you prepare for the tougher challenges ahead.

Running forever will get you nowhere, however, and the battle arena is the focal point of the game. Seemingly complicated options soon become second nature. You'll quickly learn that Bravery attacks must be landed so you can call for an assisted attack from a powerful support character. And you'll remember to look out for special items which fill your EX Meter, letting you unleash a devastating EX Revenge strike.

Soon you can team up with other characters, forming a crack squad itching to demolish anything foolish enough to stand in your way.

Subtlety links with brute force, giving you plenty of room to flex your tactical muscles. Find the right blend for each of the 30-plus characters to experience the huge breadth of styles and techniques on offer, in one of the most distinctive fighting games on PSP.
