Find out everything you need to know about the Keys to Kyrat...
"Co-op is a big deal in Far Cry 4" Ubisoft's Alexander Hutchinson tells PlayStation.com, "We were talking at the start of development about how to give the player the ability to tell their own stories - the easiest way is to allow you to bring your best friend into the game."
That is the basis of Keys to Kyrat, a bonus you can only find on PlayStation that will allow you to have a friend join your Far Cry 4 session without them needing to own the game. "If you're playing on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 3 then you'll get ten golden tickets that you can give out to ten of your closest friends and invite them to play the open world with you for free."
So how will this work? Alexander had the details, "Your friend will download a client version of the game and they can jump in as long as you're online to play with - they can play for several hours."
Alexander also had some interesting elements of co-operative play to share, "You get fun little side abilities too - so imagine the second player is a cameraman and together we're creating a video for our YouTube channel, that second player can actually act as a second camera. They can be up on the building, tracking you as a way of having an extra in-game camera, which is really cool."
"Every story is more fun if you bring your best friend along for the ride. You can imagine all of those tools, all of those toys to the power of two with your buddy. I'm in the helicopter, you're on an elephant and we're combining those in different ways."
The Keys to Kyrat will be coming exclusively to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 when Far Cry 4 releases on 18 November 2014.
