Find out what it's like to play The LEGO Movie Videogame and start building your own adventure on PlayStation 4.
Everything is awesome!
Emmet is just a regular LEGO guy, living in a normal LEGO house in Bricksburgh – just like everyone else. He's got a pretty ordinary job as a LEGO construction worker, and that's just fine... because in Emmet's LEGO world, everything is awesome!
But maybe Emmet isn't quite so ordinary after all...
One evening, Emmet trips and falls into a mysterious – and surprisingly deep – hole that's opened up in the construction site. When he finally bumps and tumbles his way to the bottom, a mysterious, glowing brick called the Piece of Resistance lies waiting for him.
Guarded by a nimble heroine called Wyldstyle who possesses the awesome power of a Master Builder – and, much to Emmet's amazement, can build anything from LEGO bricks without instructions – Emmet must take charge of the Piece of Resistance and set off to foil the fiendish plans of the dastardly General Business. Does Emmet have what it takes to become "The Special", live up the legend and foil General Business' schemes to take over the world?
Build your adventure brick by brick
As a construction worker in a world made of LEGO bricks, naturally there's a whole lot of work to be done. You'll begin your adventure on a busy building site, finding the instructions, tools and bricks needed to construct, demolish and fix all sorts of things.
Once you've found all of the instructions pages needed to build an item, you'll take charge of putting the plan into action. Think fast and find the correct piece, as taking too long will cost you valuable studs.
Throughout the adventure, Emmet will be called upon to use his trusty wrench to get himself and his friends past all sorts of obstacles and puzzles; but it's the powerful master builder skills, only possessed by certain characters, which will create the most impressive structures. Master builders can create structures without the need for instructions – so make sure you're playing as the correct character, or you could end up with some odd looking creations.
Your new LEGO friends
As with all games in the LEGO series, collecting valuable gold and silver studs will help you to unlock even more fun within the game – like extra special characters from The LEGO Movie. Bashing any item made of LEGO will give you more studs... and as you're living in a whole world made of LEGO bricks, that means there are studs to be found everywhere!
Throughout the game, you'll find new characters that can be bought with studs, each with their own unique personality and handy set of skills. You might need to call on someone who can use explosives to demolish a building, or who can jump extra-high and climb up the walls to reach hidden areas. There's even a surprising cameo from a certain mask-wearing caped crusader to look forward to. Working together is important if you want to reach the end of each level – because as the song says, everything is cool when you're part of a team.
Bring the movie to life
You'll find yourself piloting futuristic spacecraft, riding on top of a train in the Old West, blasting General Business' robot henchmen with a whole host of weapons, and loads more besides. There are tons of collectables dotted throughout each themed world, and you can return to each level again and again until you've grabbed every stud, character and special item that you can get your hands on.
The action and storyline of the game stays lovingly true to the plot of The LEGO Movie, from the settings and clever use of LEGO bricks to the comedy moments and bundles of personality in every character that will charm gamers young and old. And we guarantee you'll be singing the incredibly catchy theme tune for months after you've completed the game...
