Master the moves of battle in this swashbuckling demo, available for free from PlayStation Store now.

Draw upon the power of your PlayStation Move motion controller in Medieval Moves, and rid your castle of a swarming undead army. The evil sorcerer Morgrimm has conjured his most devious, skin-crawling curse and turned the inhabitants of a peaceful citadel into a horde of skeletons.

It's up to you, as Prince Edmund, to fend off these nightmarish invaders – even though you have fallen victim to Morgrimm's spell, too. With a PS Move motion controller at your side, you can banish the sound of bone clattering on stone once and for all.

Read on for all the advice a budding warrior needs, and then download the free demo to your PlayStation 3 system from PlayStation Store.

Get into the swing

Battling Morgrimm's ferocious minions will be a true test of a young hero's mettle, and before you set off on your daring quest, you must master your faithful tools. You'll be taught to swing your sword in anger, to counter-attack using your shield, to dice up your enemies using throwing stars and to pick off foes and net priceless treasures with your bow and arrow.

Remember all of the techniques you learn, and look out for the perfect opportunities to use them once you leave the sanctuary of your training field.

Sticks and stones

Your training session is suddenly interrupted by a giant skeleton looming large over your castle – it's time to make a break for it into a nearby tower occupied by Morgrimm's snoozing soldiers.

Try to keep your bow drawn so you can let off a volley of arrows at enemies from distance. The undead barely pause for breath or cover, running at you with their weapons flailing until either they or you are beaten. It's best to cut them down before they get within striking distance.

Look out for explosive barrels, too: many foes attack in groups, and a quick shot to a volatile object will wipe them out at once. Failing that, just remember to raise your shield to protect yourself and launch counter-attacks – especially against armoured troops.

Don't keep it a secret

Incoming arrows and stampeding corpses are not the only things to watch out for. Whenever you spot a cluster of twinkling stars, you must take aim and fire to reveal secret paths. These are often littered with bonus items such as energy-boosting milk bottles and priceless gems that increase your score. Be careful, though. These hidden tunnels are teeming with the fighting dead, and they're no respecters of royalty.

Help Prince Edmund reclaim his kingdom and add some skin to his bones when Medieval Moves launches for PS3 on 16 November 2011. In the meantime, download the bone-crunching demo to your PS3 from PlayStation Store.
