Wander through the digital delights of The Studio this month – only on PlayStation 3 and PSP.

Psychedelic sensations available now
Surreal, playful and inspiring: just some of the ways to describe the latest additions to The Studio, the digital art gallery for your PlayStation 3 and PSP. Artwork with a truly international flavour has joined the exciting line-up of themes available to download from PlayStation Store this month.

In Paris artist Blind Salida's own words, "I like to create explosions, lines or movements within colourful, surrealist designs". He's certainly managed that with Chemical Colours to Wild Machine, ready to download now. It's a dynamic theme for your PS3 that sees a metallic mass of pipework spattered with vibrant shapes and looping trails of colour, making your television screen pop and fizz with life.

"You come from another galaxy", say street art collective 123Klan if you haven't heard of them. If you're familiar with the alleys of their Montreal stomping ground, then you might have seen their brash, confident tags adorning the walls. Their Le Theme is out now, a background so fresh you'll want to make sure you don't get spray paint all over your PS3 system.

Unnerving and unforgettable is the Hungry Eyes theme for PS3, the work of Oslo illustrator Kristian Hammerstad. Solid colour blocks and scratchy inks make his ouput look as though it's leapt from the pages of a particularly dark graphic novel – and his piece for The Studio is a dramatic twist on the eyes that follow you around the room.

Later in the month
From 6 July 2011, three decidedly dream-like themes will be available to download from The Studio. If You Go Down to the Woods is a light-hearted, dynamic theme depicting four shambling characters in a dusky forest from artist Pete Fowler, famed for his off-kilter designs for Welsh band Super Furry Animals.

Similar ideas continue with Tom Sewell's Psychedelic Yawn, while UK-based design outfit Maharishi camouflage your XMB (XrossMediaBar) with wisps of cloud and twisted vegetation in Maharishi Hex.

Cartoon woodgrain design comes courtesy of Richard Woods. The London artist has been commissioned by design houses all over the world, and his signature piece, Logo, makes its debut in The Studio from 13 July 2011. It's joined by work from Chicago doodler Cody Hudson, whose Cosmic Pencil dynamic theme scribbles geometric shapes all over your screen, while you can go face-to-face with the imposing, mystical Buddhas from Hydro 74.

Head to The Studio via PlayStation Store and lose yourself in some of the sharpest downloadable designs around. For all the latest on the digital gallery, don't forget to check eu.playstation.com/thestudio.
