Enter a new dimension with stereoscopic 3D on PlayStation 3.

Stereoscopic 3D exploded into living rooms and the world over in 2010, and is set to go from strength to strength in 2011 with a massive line up of PlayStation 3 blockbuster games including Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

The BRAVIA 3D TV offers an unparalleled 3D viewing experience on a super slim screen. If you have purchased a 3D TV this Christmas you can transform it into the ultimate 3D home cinema by picking up the Sony Active Shutter glasses and 3D sync transmitter peripherals. If you bought a BRAVIA 3D TV with integrated 3D sync transmitter, which also includes a pair of Sony Active Shutter glasses, then you are all set for spectacular gaming and viewing experiences.

Remember, in order for your PlayStation 3 to be 3D enabled you must first download and install the latest system software update.

A new dawn on PlayStation

Once you have downloaded and installed the latest system software update you can experience an entire library of great games in eye-popping stereoscopic 3D. Right now there are several games playable in stereoscopic 3D for you to choose from on PlayStation 3. If you already own copies of PAIN, Super Stardust HD and WipEout HD you can download a free update from PlayStation Store that adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay, and they are also available to download from PlayStation Store as the 3D Collection pack.

The pack includes a 3D demo for MotorStorm 3D Rift, the carnage filled racing game developed by the team at Evolution Studios. If you like it, then you can visit PlayStation Store to download MotorStorm 3D Rift for even more 3D racing mayhem.

Other blockbuster games available to purchase right now include the science fiction opuses, James Cameron's Avatar: The Game and Tron: Evolution, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Call of Duty: Black Ops, The Sly Trilogy and racing champion, Gran Turismo 5. That's right, you can get behind the wheel of Polyphony Digital's masterpiece and compete on each of the tracks in glorious stereoscopic 3D.

Coming soon

2011 promises to be a mammoth twelve months for stereoscopic 3D games with a slew of new titles arriving on PlayStation 3 throughout the year. In MotorStorm Apocalypse every race, crash and explosion will tear through your living room in epic 3D glory, while Guerrilla's highly anticipated Killzone 3 gets you closer to the action with both PlayStation Move motion controller features and stereoscopic 3D.

In the sequel, your goal is to fight off the Helghast hordes in the nuclear aftermath of Pyrrhus City in a desperate bid to escape the hostile planet Helghan. Other great games destined to make 3D history on PlayStation 3 include an all-new Mortal Kombat and 2011's most anticipated PlayStation 3 game, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, where you embark on a quest to solve the mystery of the fabled Atlantis of the Sands.

Movie magic

Your PlayStation 3 not only enables 3D gaming, it also allows you to view Blu-ray Discs in 3D. There are a huge range of films available to purchase including children's favourites, Alice In Wonderland starring Johnny Depp, Jim Carrey's A Christmas Carol, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, Open Season, The Polar Express and the spooky Monster House.

And grown-ups can get their own 3D movie fix with the fishy comedy horror, Piranha, Resident Evil: Afterlife and My Bloody Valentine 3D, which is set for release in March 2011. 2010 also saw the release of a number of 3D movies in cinemas including Despicable Me, Tron: Legacy, Shrek Forever After and Toy Story 3, so expect all these fantastic films and more to arrive on 3D Blu-ray Disc throughout 2011.

3D Memories

Download PlayMemories from PlayStation Store for free to bring your photos to life and enjoy all your favourite memories on your TV screen. Any pictures you take using a 3D camera can be viewed in 2D stereoscopic 3D and arranged into a slideshow complete with a soundtrack of your choice. You can also enjoy panoramic or multi-angle photographs and zoom in and out of the images taken with a 3D camera.
