March 23, 2009 was PlayStation Network's second birthday since the start of the service - want to join in the celebration?

PlayStation Network (PSN) is an online environment tailored to you. Free-to-access and full of interactive features which let you download and play games, chat to friends and family around the world, surf the web and more, PSN is the ideal place for all your online needs - and thanks to you, the service has had a couple of very successful years under its growing belt.

With hundreds of trailers, themes, wallpapers, games and other downloads available for you to enjoy, PSN is a haven of entertainment.

Here are some of the highlights to look out for while exploring the service:

WipEout HD

The arrival of WipEout HD on PlayStation 3 marks the dawning of a new era for the iconic racing game, as global online competition, two player split screen mode and a licensed pumping soundtrack means the future starts here – so strap yourself in for anti-gravity combat racing in full 1080p High Definition.

LittleBigPlanet downloads

LittleBigPlanet's cute Sackboy character can be dressed up in a variety of ways to suit your mood and style. From Killzone to Metal Gear Solid, few games are safe from the little mascot's wardrobe changing powers. There's also the ability to download whole level packs and extras to spruce up your levels - all with a LittleBigPlanet glamour, of course.

Pain

In the bustling city landscape of Pain, any target is fair game. Windows, gas canisters, buildings, scaffolding – nothing is safe from the sights of a giant catapult. What makes this prospect so painful? The projectile waiting to be hurled into the distance... is you.

With its massive array of extras to add on to the main game, including fresh settings (including a theme park), new characters (such as the celebrity David Hasselhoff) and a host of additional game types, Pain is irresistible gameplay served directly to your home on PSN.

God of War III trailer

God of War III is coming to PS3, and the armies of Olympus will tremble beneath his might. Download a trailer of the highly anticipated action adventure which unleashes the wrath of Kratos on mythological beasts, titans and gods.

Super Stardust Portable

Available for PSP, Super Stardust Portable brings a galaxy of asteroid blasting action straight into the palms of your hands. Defend five vulnerable planets from incoming danger as you explode into some manic shoot 'em up action.

Download Super Stardust Portable and prepare to experience dazzling intergalactic warfare up close and personal.

Buzz!: Quiz TV packs

If you've yet to have the pleasure of being introduced to the irrepressible game show host, Buzz, then Buzz!: Quiz TV is the perfect way to get started - and thanks to PSN there is a massive batch of downloadable packs to make sure you'll be buzzing into the wee hours.  It doesn't matter if you're into sci-fi, sport, music, comedy, culture... with PSN you have all the topics covered for Buzz!

Coming soon to PSN:

Fat Princess

A comic medieval battle of massive proportions, action strategy title Fat Princess doesn't take itself too seriously - you assume the role of an army and go head to head with your foes in the quest to rescue your beloved princess from the enemy dungeon. Although your adversary has made things a tad trickier than you expect by stuffing the poor princess with food, making her difficult to carry across the battlefield. Comedy and tactics - that's what Fat Princess is all about.

Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic

Journey into the mystic art of kung fu like never before in this exotic beat 'em up that brings action figure-like fighters to spectacular life. Perform high vaulting martial arts across High Definition stages with ninja precision and pull off spectacular motion sensitive attacks with the Wireless Controller to show off your kung fu skills.

There's plenty there for you to enjoy, so sign in - or if you've not got a PSN ID yet, sign up - grab some cake, put your feet up and join in the celebrations of PSN's terrific twos.
