Use PS3 to exchange free text, picture, voice and video messages with your friends.
Once your PlayStation 3 is online and you're signed up to PlayStation Network, you'll be able to stay in touch with other PS3 owners worldwide. Go to [Message Box] to create a new written message, including the ability to attach pictures stored in Photo on the PS3 Home Menu.
Alternatively, if you already have a compatible USB headset or PlayStation®Eye camera go to [Start New Chat] under Friends on the PS3 Home Menu and you can enjoy a voice or video chat - it's free and you can chat with anyone in the world as long as they're also online with their PS3 and signed in to PlayStation Network.
Managing your friends is easy too - as long as you have their Online ID, you can add them to your Friends List and then getting in touch is one simple step away.
