Create a Folk

PS3™

Grab your chance to design a new character that will be included in Folklore, the new fantasy adventure title on PlayStation 3.

The vision of legendary game creator Yoshiki Okamoto (executive producer for Onimusha, Devil May Cry and Resident Evil), Folklore is a dark, fantasy adventure game exclusive to PlayStation 3.

Two strangers, Keats and Ellen, are both drawn to the sleepy Irish village of Doolin in an effort to solve a 17-year-old mystery. They soon learn that the town serves as a gateway to the Netherworld, a fantastic realm inhabited by nightmarish, supernatural creatures called Folk.

There are over 100 Folk in the game, each with their own unique magical powers that you can absorb to help you travel through the Netherworld, and this is your chance to create one more...

To take part in this once-in-a-lifetime contest, all you have to do is create an illustration of your new Folk character, give it a name and provide a description of the character as well as the unique attack the player can absorb from it.

Once you've done that, head over to the forums and post your entry there (registration required). Alternatively, entries can be sent via email to competitions@community.eu.playstation.com. All entries must be submitted before noon on Monday 22 October, 2007.

Entries will be judged by a panel from Japan's Game Republic studios that will include Okamoto-San.

The winning design will be turned into a real Folk, downloadable from PlayStation®Store, that other players will be able to fight and capture in-game. In addition, the winner plus four runners-up will receive their own copy of Folklore for PlayStation 3 and a Folklore goody bag.

For more information about Folklore and to find inspiration for your design, visit the official Doolin Tourist Information Centre at www.folklore-game.com.

Rules

  • All entries must be received by 12:00 GMT on Monday 22 October 2007.
