Conquer the impossible with Echochrome on PlayStation 3 and PSP.
Recently announced at SCEA's 2007 E3 press conference for PSP and PlayStation 3, Echochrome, is a puzzle game with a unique style and some seriously innovative gameplay.Intended to be offered on UMD disc for PSP, and as a download through the PlayStation Store for PS3, Echochrome resembles the impossible drawings of M.C. Escher. Levels are made up of simple black and white line drawings that you, as a simple stick figure, have to navigate. You move along beams floating in empty space and must make it to the end of the level collecting items and avoiding holes scattered throughout the level.
The game works on a "what you can't see, can't hurt you" philosophy, and so rotating the levels to different perspectives allows you to hide the holes, letting you walk across them safely, as well as allowing you access to previously unreachable areas, much like in the brilliant Crush, also available on PSP.
With its elegant simplicity and brain-bending puzzles, Echochrome is already looking like a puzzle-fan's dream, so keep checking eu.playstation.com for more news as it arrives.| Publish date: | 17/07/07 |
