Catapults, jetpacks and bowling - it's all go on PlayStation Network.

At their annual press conference during the E3 Media & Business Summit, Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) announced a storming line-up of brand new games for PlayStation Network. Read on for the details of the unique and innovative game experiences coming your way soon, only on PlayStation Network.

LittleBigPlanet

Already announced at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March 2007, LittleBigPlanet is looking even better than before. Presenting you with all the tools you need, LittleBigPlanet lets your creativity run wild as you create a world for you and your friends to explore with endlessly customisable characters. Running, jumping, flying on jetpacks and working together to overcome bigger obstacles all add up to what promises to be a brilliant and constantly changing multiplayer experience.

PAIN

The achingly funny PAIN sees you using a huge, man-sized catapult to launch yourself into a bustling city and cause as much damage and chaos as is humanly possible. PAIN uses ragdoll technology to make sure that your graceless arc through the city is as realistic as possible, and you can control your character in mid-flight, meaning you can drift in different directions as well as striking poses and grabbing items. What's more, every game of PAIN is saved to the PS3 hard drive as an action replay, so you can upload the most wince-inducing clips for other PAIN players to download, rank and comment on.

High Velocity Bowling

High Velocity Bowling is an arcade-style bowling game with a difference - you use the SIXAXIS Wireless Controller to bowl just as you would in real life! There are plenty of game modes, ranging from quick game, to head-to-head, tournaments and trick shots, where you must curve the ball around obstacles, jump the ball off ramps or even roll it through the legs of a chair. Including 10 different unique characters each with their own bowling lanes, as well as online leader boards and trophies to be won, High Velocity Bowling is perfect for the pin head in everyone.

Snakeball

Snakeball is a fast paced and fiendishly addictive action game. You have to take to the disco floor on your hoversnake, outsmarting your opponents, snapping up the coloured balls and dropping them in the goal to score points. With three game modes and a mass of weapons and obstacles to contend with, Snakeball is a brilliantly fun and unique online sport, and one that shows off the capabilities of PlayStation Network perfectly.

WipEout HD

A gorgeous High Definition reworking of WipEout Pulse on PSP, WipEout HD brings the adrenaline-pumping anti-gravity racing series screaming into the next generation. Featuring the high-tech weapons, high-octane speed and a high-tempo dance soundtrack that has made the series so popular, WipEout HD delivers an explosive taste of the future directly into your home.

So there you have it - with these fantastic games and many more in the pipeline, the future of PlayStation Network is shaping up to be very bright indeed. Keep checking eu.playstation.com for more in depth information, coming soon.
