Discover how you can bring wizardry to life in your living room on PlayStation 3.

Step 1: Make sure you have everything you need to begin

Wonderbook: Book of Spells on PS3 is the first step along the exciting road to learning the secrets of witchcraft and wizardry, and you'll need just a few more things to get your training under way.

Along with your PS3 system, here's a list of what you'll need to get started:

  • Wonderbook: Book of Spells: This pack contains the game and the official Wonderbook peripheral.
  • PlayStation Move motion controller: You can buy this on its own, in the PlayStation Move Starter Pack or as part of a special Wonderbook: Book of Spells bundle.
  • PlayStation Eye camera: You can also buy this on its own, in the PlayStation Move Starter Pack or as part of the Wonderbook: Book of Spells bundle.

Check out wonderbook.eu.playstation.com for full details on where to buy Wonderbook: Book of Spells.

Step 2: Set up your Wonderbook

Wonderbook is a magical book that comes to life in your hands, using augmented reality technology to transform the world around you. In Wonderbook: Book of Spells, you will read magical text and learn the wand gestures and incantations for a variety of spells.

Before you get started, make sure you've got plenty of room in front of your TV to lie your Wonderbook out flat. It's a good idea to use your Wonderbook in a bright, evenly lit room to help it appear clearly; try not to use it in rooms with mirrors behind you.

Step 3: Connect your PlayStation Eye camera

Next, you'll need to connect your PlayStation Eye camera to your PS3 so that both you and your Wonderbook can be seen clearly in your room. First, set your PlayStation Eye camera to wide angle view by twisting the lens round to the blue lens angle indicator. Then, tilt the camera so that it is looking towards the floor and place it above or below your TV screen, at about head height when you're sitting down.

Once you can see both your face and your Wonderbook on the TV screen, you're ready for the next step.

Step 4: Grab your PS Move motion controller

Now it's time to pick up your PS Move motion controller, which will become your wand. Sit a little way back from the PlayStation Eye camera and point your motion controller at it, so you can see it on your TV screen. Hold your motion controller nice and steady and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the set-up process.

Your wand's movements will be clearly recognised as you swish it around. Don't forget to attach the supplied strap to your motion controller – this will help you keep your grip as you cast spells.

Step 5: You are ready to go

Congratulations! You're all set up and ready to play Wonderbook: Book of Spells.

You'll be guided through each step in the process with an easy to understand, in-game tutorial that will have you ready to go in moments. If you're still unsure about anything, visit wonderbook.eu.playstation.com for more information.
