Precious few places remain in the 2010 FIFA Interactive World Cup Grand Final as online qualification wraps up.

Barcelona is once again the destination the world's best virtual footballers have in their sights. As the final of the 2010 FIFA Interactive World Cup on 1 May 2010 draws tantalisingly close, the online qualification section of the competition is now closed and, at the end of April 2010, the full Grand Final line-up will be revealed.

The Polish Live Qualifier Event saw Damian Trutkowski beat a field of 480 competitors to confirm his trip to Barcelona. The 19 year-old from Tczew, Poland won a nervy final match against Bartosz Pietka in front of a large crowd.

"I have had such a great day here and am really pleased to have won," he said. "I will train very hard and aim to go to Barcelona to win the Grand Final."

Another of the day's top attractions was a special 10 vs 10 exhibition match between top professional football team Legia Warszawa and a collection of celebrities. To the surprise of spectators and participants alike, the celebrity dream team defeated the real life footballers 2-0.

All eyes are on South Africa as it prepares to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the Live Qualifier Event in Johannesburg didn't disappoint. Local hero Collen Ndlovu secured a 3-2 final match win over Rakan Al-Haqbani from Saudi Arabia, later revealing: "I only turned up today because my friend thought he could beat me."

In London, Arsenal's Emirates Stadium hosted a tense Live Qualifier Event which saw Robert Brewster overcome a strong field, including former champion Chris Bullard and Portugal's best FIFA 10 player, Nuno Gomes.

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott popped along to show off his FIFA 10 skills and amazed the crowd by scoring two superb solo efforts controlling the virtual version of himself.

Keep an eye on eu.playstation.com for a full round-up of which players will be packing their Wireless Controllers for the FIFA Interactive World Cup Grand Final in Barcelona on 1 May 2010.
