What is Buzz! World Championships?

Buzz! World Championships is the very first Buzz! online competition. As the new Buzz! game, Buzz!: Brain of the UK, has a national twist, we thought it'd be great fun to run a search for the best Buzz! players in each country, and bring them all together to find the first Buzz! World Champion.

Which countries take part in the competition?

Anyone from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Poland, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland or Norway can take part. It's going to be a truly international event.

How will the winners be chosen at each stage of the competition?

There are three rounds to the competition.

The first is the Open Round, where anyone can enter. All you need to do is play the single player mode of Buzz!: Brain of the UK online and get your score on the national leaderboard . You're going to be scored on your speed and answer accuracy - so be quick and clever! When the competition closes, the top 32 players in each country's leaderboard will win a place at their National Final.

Round 2 is the National Final, which will be a knockout tournament. Players will face off against each other to become their National Champion.

This all leads to Round 3 - the International Grand Final - where you'll go up against each country's best player in a series of solo knockout rounds. If you want to win, you're going to need to be the very best to be crowned Buzz! World Champion.

Do I have to be a certain age to take part in the competition?

You'll need to be 18 years of age or over to take part.

What are the opening and closing dates?

Depending on where you live, the opening and closing dates will be different for the Open Round.

April 22 to May 22, 2009: UK, France and Germany

May 6 to June 6, 2009 - Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Poland, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and Norway

What categories will the questions be on?

Prepare to have all of your general knowledge skills tested in each round of the competition.

What prizes are on offer?

For Round 1 winners, you'll get a trip to your Buzz! National Final, plus a unique and exclusive Buzz! item for PlayStation Home.

For Round 2 winners, you'll win a trip for two to the Buzz! International Grand Final, which is going to be a very exciting event in Europe. You'll also get a unique Buzz! item for PlayStation Home.

For the Buzz! World Champion, not only will you have the honour of being the very best - you'll also win a brand new Buzz! red MINI Clubman car.

How many times can I play?

In the Open Round you can play as much as you like to improve your score.

What happens if there's a tie?

If there's a tie, we'll hold an online Sofa Vs. Sofa game to see who will go to the next round.
