The 2008-09 season of the FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC) is underway; register for your chance to stand alongside football royalty.

FIFA 09 is available now on PlayStation 3 and the world's best virtual footballers have already started training for the new FIWC season, which promises to be the most fiercely contested yet.

Register now and give yourself the best possible chance of a place in the Grand Final, where 32 players from around the globe will battle it out for a truly incredible prize: an invitation to receive their trophy at the FIFA World Player Gala, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with football superstars. The ultimate winner will also receive a USD 20,000 cash prize and a Kia Soul car.

It's easy to get involved; all you need is a copy of FIFA 09 and a PlayStation Network account. Simply select FIFA Interactive World Cup from the Online Game Modes section of FIFA 09's main menu and follow the on-screen instructions to enter your EA Online Account details, or register one if you haven't already. For more information on registering, take a look at the FIFA Interactive World Cup FAQ on eu.playstation.com.

Alternatively, keep an eye on www.FIFA.com/FIWC for details of Live Qualifier events around the world. These events pit players against each other, face-to-face, for the chance to become National Champion and book a place in the Grand Final.

Whichever route you choose, you'll need to put in plenty of training, as this season the standard of play is going to be higher than ever. Keep checking eu.playstation.com for FIWC updates and interviews.

Good luck!
