Presentation

Love tennis?

From the very start, EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis 2 on PlayStation 3 serves up a superb slice of authentic sporting action that's irresistible to any tennis fan. Flashy TV studio style presentation gives you the perfect introduction to a star-studded world where racket legends such as Bjorn Borg and Martina Navratilova play next to modern-day champions such as Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova.

EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis 2 captures the likenesses and characteristics of over 20 tennis professionals with incredible detail. Each unique service technique, shot style and temperament is shown on the court as the matches play out. Tense tiebreaks are given an emotional edge as your player expresses their frustration at an unforced error, or delight from a hard-earned point.

The 16 available courts are given just as much attention, putting you in the thick of the action. It doesn't matter whether you're on the green Centre Court of Wimbledon or the hard surface of the Louis Armstrong Stadium in the US Open, each match transports you to an impressive and intense cauldron of crowds and competition.

Gameplay

Game, set and match

Do you have the swing of a Grand Slam champion? Time to prove it with EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis 2 on PlayStation 3. Featuring all four Grand Slam competitions, including Roland Garros in Paris and the Australian Open, you can take on the greats of tennis - and you don't even need a racket.

Compatible with the PlayStation Move motion controller, EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis 2 lets you swing, slice and slam your way to the top - with all the accuracy and realism of the sport in your hands.

Don't worry if you need a little practice or wish to get to grips with the wireless controller instead. Multiple Grand Slam winner John McEnroe is on hand to lend his expertise in the Tennis School mode so you can learn how to place your shots and position your player like a pro.

If you're not quite ready for the big leagues yet, you can try the Career mode, where you can create your own player and take him or her on the road to victory. Hold your nerve and don't be afraid of the big guns of tennis - even an inexperienced newcomer can spark an upset, just like in real life.

While you can create dream teams in the tournament and one-off singles and doubles modes with tennis greats such as Pat Cash and Boris Becker, the ESPN Grand Slam Classics mode is where the giants come out to play. There you can repeat or rewrite over 20 of the greatest moments in the history of tennis. Starting with just a handful of scenarios based on some of the most famous matches of the past 30 years, you have to complete objectives and win your match to unlock more.

If you ever wanted to play in the classic Williams sisters final of 2003 or step into Andy Murray's shoes to defeat Rafael Nadal in the 2008 US Open semi-final, here's your chance.

Rally your friends

So, who is it to be? Roger Federer vs Pete Sampras? Lindsay Davenport against Ana Ivanović? These dream matchups and more can be played in EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis 2, with you and up to three friends as the stars. You and your mates can travel to over 16 available courts, including the Australian Open Hisense Arena and Roland Garros Court Suzanne Lenglen, and battle it out in a variety of singles and doubles matches.

Whether you decide to play in one-off matches or massive tournaments of your own making, this hard-hitting tennis simulation caters for all. You can battle together in the same room on one PlayStation 3 system, or go head-to-head online via PlayStation Network, choosing to play with either the wireless controller or PS Move motion controller. Whatever you decide, you'll enjoy smashing forehands, backhands, overheads and volleys with precision and power.

Adding an extra edge to your friendly competition is the Create A Player mode, where you can mould a budding superstar in your own image. Choose from a variety of appearances, famous playing styles, accessories and more to shape the next EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis 2 champion - and then share your creation online.

Every match in EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis 2 is exciting when other players are involved. The action is slick, fast and fun, with the atmosphere of the real thing - all without leaving your home.
