Presentation

Looking good, feeling great

If you've ever wanted to get your body into shape, UFC Personal Trainer on PlayStation 3 is here to start your fitness journey in fine form. Leading mixed martial arts (MMA) training experts Mark DellaGrotte, Greg Jackson and Javier Mendez all lend their experience to create routines and programmes that are utilised by some of the best Ultimate Fighting Championship combatants around.

UFC Personal Trainer packs a punch with over 70 exercises approved by the MMA and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) plus 51 routines to sweat your way through. Using the PlayStation Move motion controller and the PlayStation Eye camera, the game accurately tracks your movements as you exercise. Each workout is clearly demonstrated so you know exactly what you need to do and how each routine benefits your strength, endurance and conditioning.

There's plenty of encouragement in the shape of your on-screen personal trainers who set the pace of your workout and offer energetic motivation. You can also track your goals with a helpful in-game journal - so you can give yourself a healthy pat on the back when you smash your targets.

You better shape up

Gameplay

You better shape up

UFC Personal Trainer on PlayStation 3 doesn't require you to fight to get fit. Rather than throw you into the ring like an Ultimate Fighting Championship warrior, this game spills the fitness secrets of the sport's top fighters, all from the safety of your living room.

Ready for your workout? UFC Personal Trainer places you in a virtual gym that features everything you need to help develop a toned and sculpted body. To get started, you need a PlayStation Move motion controller - you can attach it to your leg using the included Leg Strap - and a PlayStation Eye camera, so the game can track your movement and display feedback. Enter personal data such as your height and weight, listen to a few valuable health tips to help you prepare and then get ready for your workout.

After a brief fitness test you can kick things off with a little Muay Thai related activities, then move on to the likes of kickboxing, wrestling or any of the large number of disciplines that have inspired over 70 mixed martial arts and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) approved exercises.

Each routine is rough and ready, and designed to target specific muscle groups and match your desired pace and intensity. With a choice of preset routines including a 30 or 60-day programme, and the ability to personalise and save your tailor-made workout, you can have fun with your favourite exercises and get the results you desire.

Go toe to toe with a friend

Multiplayer

Go toe to toe with a friend

Working out is more fun with a buddy, and UFC Personal Trainer on PlayStation 3 lets you enjoy a great variety of multiplayer modes to mix up your routine. You can exercise alongside a friend in the challenging Tyre Flip or Speed Bag tasks to build up your endurance and strength.

If you're feeling a little more competitive, you can go head-to-head in Hot Seat mode, which sees you battle for a high score in Tyre Flip, Speed Bag or the high-impact punching coordination exercise, Hit the Mitts.

Why not tackle some online competition? The PlayStation Network Challenge allows you to send or receive up to 15 challenges in Hit the Mitts mode. So you can motivate your PlayStation Network friends with fresh targets whenever you want.

Fancy a bit of extra training to get the edge? You can enjoy any of these activities and a bout of Free Striking with an on-screen trainer. Whether it's by yourself or with a buddy, there is no excuse not to have a little fitness fun in the comfort of your own home with UFC Personal Trainer.
