What It's Like To Play

Put yourself in the picture

Presentation

Put yourself in the picture

Each player creates a character by taking their picture with the PlayStation Eye camera and recording their name using the camera's microphone. Your picture is used to show off your skill on the prestigious leaderboards, while your name will be called out when it's your turn if you're playing with friends.

All of the challenges in Start the Party! require a different approach, whether it be carefully colouring in different shapes, smashing bugs or searching for ghosts with a torch. As you enter each challenge, you find yourself surrounded by a new environment, and are tasked with using your PlayStation Move motion controller in a new way. You could be in a leafy jungle, a towering city or a barber's shop - you never know where you'll end up next.

Whether you're chopping, blasting or cutting, the quick, realistic movements, fast paced action and intricate accuracy make Start the Party! a fun experience for all the family.

Party on!

Gameplay

Party on!

Transform your PlayStation Move motion controller into a sword, a giant toothbrush and even hair clippers in a series of wacky, fast paced challenges in Start the Party! Physical movement is the key as you swipe, hack and scrub your way through these frantic and exciting games.

Step into the spotlight and see yourself at the heart of the crazy action as you interact with your virtual surroundings to score loads of points. Take out as many pesky bugs as you can with a tennis racket in Bug Bashin', or carefully guide cute little chicks back to the safety of their nest using a hand-held fan in Blooown Away.

Try your hand, paintbrush and bat at over 20 different games in either Free Play or Survival mode. Free Play lets you explore a host of different tasks including Picture This, Poppin' and Spooky Shootout. As you master each game, crank up the difficulty level and put yourself to the test. In Survival mode, you'll take on a whole mash up of different challenges as you try to keep your meter full by scoring points. The better you perform, the longer you'll last!

Get the party moving

Get your PlayStation Move motion controller at the ready, and prepare to slice up exotic fruit, take down spooky ghouls and rescue innocent civilians from a hungry monster - it's time to Start the Party!

Working in tandem with a PlayStation Eye camera, your motion controller turns into a variety of different on-screen objects and instruments that you can then use to manipulate the environment around you. Appearing on-screen with crazy items such as a fan, torch or racket, you'll be able to manoeuvre the object you're holding to burst blowfish, cut hair or even create works of art.

Any movement you make will be accurately replicated on-screen as you frantically complete challenges and score points. Easy to pick up but difficult to put down again, Start the Party! combines energetic physical movement with intricate tasks, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Move to win

Multiplayer

Move to win

Up to three of your friends can join in your party and chop, bash and scribble through some crazy contests. Only one PlayStation Move motion controller is needed, and is passed around and shared between players.

Together, you can play up to ten rounds of marvellous mayhem, whether it be cleaning crocodiles' teeth, searching for hidden gems or creating some crazy hairstyles. Each round is completely different; take on your opponents in the High Score Round, Knockout Round or even the Time Attack Round if you have what it takes.

Winners are rewarded with some special shiny stars, which are converted into time to score more points in the final round, so try to collect as many as possible. If you don't have enough stars, there's always an opportunity to pinch one from a friend in the Robber Round, or earn some more in a surprise Bonus Round.

Sore loser? We all are sometimes. Use the Joker Round to draw all over your rival's photo or re-record their name to make them feel rather silly! It all goes to ensure Start the Party! is one party you wont want to stop.
