Get your dose of footballing fever with PlayStation.
The football season is over, the Champion's League final is done, and there's no summer tournament this year to give you your footballing fix. So what are you going to do? Well don't despair, because PlayStation has everything you need to keep even the most die-hard football fan satisfied during the off-season.Pro Evolution Soccer (PS2 & PSP) and FIFA (PS2 & PSP)
Pro Evolution Soccer and FIFA have been duking it out for as long as there have been PlayStation systems to play them on. Both have their advocates, but the fact remains that both are fantastic football games, and close to perfect recreations of the beautiful game.
Sensible Soccer 2006 (PS2)
The cult 90s favourite got a new lease of life in 2006 thanks to a remake that retained all the wacky fun of the original with brand new gameplay and cel-shaded graphics. Fan of the original or not, Sensible Soccer is a great football game that bridges the gap between realistic simulation and arcade action, making it perfect for any footy fan looking to go on a virtual goal rampage.
World Tour Soccer (PSP)
The World Tour Soccer series is arcade football at its best. For those that like their football with a side of action, with some fun and wacky challenges thrown in, World Tour Soccer offers accessibility, challenge and blistering action that's perfect for pick up and play gaming. A must for PSP owners everywhere.
FIFA Street (PS2 & PSP)
Taking the football action to the streets, FIFA Street offered a completely different take on the nation's pastime. More about style and flair than the goals you score, FIFA Street lets you indulge all your Ronaldinho fantasies as you spin, flick, trap and nutmeg your way to victory.
SEGA Soccer Slam (PS2)
SEGA Soccer Slam is pure unadulterated fun from start to finish, letting you play in fantastical environments and unleash devastating, superhuman strikes. Loud, brash, colourful and completely (and brilliantly) unrealistic, it's a refreshing take on the football game and one that definitely deserves a revisit.
So there you have it. Plenty to stave away the off-season blues. Just be careful you're not too busy to notice when the new season comes around...
