Activision's acclaimed Call of Duty takes another tour of duty on PlayStation 2.
The sequel to the acclaimed Call of Duty once again brings the harsh reality of World War II to life. Following America's most highly decorated fighting unit across the North African, Italian and Western European theatres of operation, this latest sally on PS2 is a reverential epic.
Cinematic in its style, Big Red One brings to an oversubscribed genre a gripping intensity that doesn't soften the harrowing and grim aspects of war. Artillery explosions shake the ground; smoke, shrapnel and bullets fill the air; planes dogfight overhead - a war-torn world is exposed with you dropped into its heart.
New AI and animation breathes more life into your unit and enemies. Compared to previous iterations, the squads in Big Red One make better use of environmental cover and tactical manoeuvres, such as flanking.
No Call of Duty title would be complete without a deep online experience, and Big Red One is no exception, offering online team games based around the Allies versus the Axis.
- Cinematic style and storyline recreates the adversity that America's most decorated unit faced
- Realism is enhanced with new AI and animations
- An intense online experience portrays the chaos of war as you battle against live opponents
