Cancel all social engagements and empty your diary as Eidos' legendary Championship Manager series makes its glorious PS2 debut.
Long regarded as the definitive soccer management experience on PC, the Championship Manager series now comes to PS2 for the first time. Take the reins at the club of your choosing, training players up, playing the transfer market and even handling the media in this latest iteration of the world's best-selling football management sim.
On match days, CM5 puts you closer to the action thanks to a 'tilted' 2D match engine that lets you judge the height of the ball. The 'Action Zones' screen splits the pitch into nine sections and shows you a breakdown of possession in each so that you can quickly identify problem areas and change tactics accordingly. There's also a wider choice of match speeds than before; for the really crucial matches you can even grab a meat pie and watch the full ninety minutes in real time.
Cleverly, CM5's 'Constant gameplay' allows you to access any screen at any time so, even while the game's processing, you can make adjustments to training regimes or check out scouting reports. The user-friendly interface means that navigating around is a cinch, and CM5 even offers you a selection of 'skins', allowing you to customise the game's appearance.
