All you need to know about importing photos to PSP.
You can use your PSP to view photo files. PSP recognizes the following image file formats: JPEG, TIFF, PNG, GIF, BMP. The best way to transfer files in the right format is by using the Media Manager for PSP software.
Note: It may not be possible to display some images, depending on the size of the image data. Additionally, some images that have been edited on a PC may not be viewable on PSP.
Format Memory Stick Duo
You must format a Memory Stick Duo before using it with your PSP. Doing so will create the necessary folders for storing and viewing photos on the Memory Stick Duo.
Any existing data on the Memory Stick Duo will be erased during the process, so ensure that you have made a backup of any files that you wish to keep before proceeding.
1. Select the "Format Memory Stick" option.
The option is found within the [System Settings] menu, underneath [Settings].
2. Format the Memory Stick Duo.
You will be prompted to confirm you would like to format the Memory Stick Duo - select "Yes" using the directional buttons and press the X button to proceed.
3. Confirm your choice.
Because formatting the Memory Stick Duo erases all data, you will be asked again to confirm that you would like to proceed. In order to proceed and format the Memory Stick Duo, press the X button.
Digital cameras
Pictures taken on a digital camera that is compatible with Memory Stick Duo can be displayed by inserting the Memory Stick Duo from the camera directly into the PSP system.
The photos will be displayed in the "Digital Camera Images" folder, under [Memory Stick] in the [Photo] area accessible from the Home Menu.
Copy files to Memory Stick Duo
Image files must be in the correct format in order to be viewed on PSP.
If your PC has a Memory Stick Duo slot, you can save files directly to the Memory Stick Duo. If the slot only accepts a standard-size Memory Stick, you will need a Memory Stick Duo Adaptor (model number MSAC-M2, a Sony product sold separately).
Alternatively, you may transfer files to a Memory Stick Duo inserted into your PSP via a standard USB cable (sold separately), or to a Memory Stick Duo inserted into a Memory Stick USB reader/writer.
Save files
Image data must be saved in the correct place on the Memory Stick Duo to enable viewing on the PSP system.
Save image files inside the "PHOTO" folder. The PSP system will not recognise photo files saved anywhere other than this folder.
You may create sub-folders within the "PHOTO" folder. However, further sub-folders will not be recognised.
