Kratos gets the chance to shine once more with a Platinum polish.
When a game reaches the heady heights of a Platinum release you can be certain it's earned the prestigious status through a combination of innovation, critical plaudits and enough commercial acclaim to warrant its re-release. This holds especially true for the positively godly God of War 2 which is now available as part of the PlayStation 2 system's Platinum range.
Inspired by Greek myth and legend, Santa Monica Studio's adult action adventure sees the return of fabled anti-hero and fearsome Spartan warrior, Kratos. Thrown into battles against beastly monsters, vengeful deities and classical characters, the Ghost of Sparta must travel to the ends of the Earth and beyond in a well crafted tale of painful tragedy and visceral revenge.
With a range of puzzles, platforming action and memorable encounters against the likes of gorgons, centaurs, sirens and even the mighty Colossus of Rhodes, God of War 2 is a truly epic odyssey - confirmed by winning the Best Story and Character gong at the 2007 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards, along with the prize for Best Technical Achievement.
If God of War 2 passed you by the first time around, there's no excuse to miss out now on one of the best games of its generation.
