Read on for details of two great new downloads for your PlayStation 3, available exclusivly from PlayStation Network.
PlayStation Network is brimming with exciting content for your PS3, ranging from full games to videos, screensavers, extra content for your favourite games and much, much more. Here are two of the best up and comers:
LocoRoco Cocoreccho!
The loveable LocoRoco are back! For those who missed the fantastic LocoRoco on PSP, LocoRoco are smiling, singing jelly-like characters who live peacefully on a faraway planet with their friends, the Mui Mui.
This time around, you control the Cocoreccho, a beautiful butterfly that is free to travel all over the game world. By pressing the Circle button the Cocoreccho is able to call the LocoRoco towards itself and guide them around the level. Touching other sleeping LocoRoco wakes them up and adds them to your group, and LocoRoco of the same colour can merge together to form bigger LocoRoco. The aim is to get a set number of LocoRoco to the end of the level to unlock new areas to explore and different kinds of LocoRoco to add to your party.
Billed as an interactive screensaver, each level in LocoRoco Cocoreccho! sends your LocoRoco on an endless loop. You can choose at any point to jump in and guide your gelatinous chums to safety, or just sit back and watch as your LocoRoco travel around the colourful levels, encountering intricate machines, smiling flowers and wacky creatures, all while singing their happy LocoRoco songs.
An interactive screensaver it may be, but the gameplay is as fun and engaging as ever and the large game world is so charming and happy that it's impossible to play without a huge grin on your face.
Pixel Junk Racers
Anyone who's ever played with slot cars or Micro Machines will be right at home with Pixel Junk Racers, a top-down, high-octane racing game available exclusively for PlayStation Network.
Viewed from an aerial perspective, the controls in Pixel Junk Racers are simple. The R2 and L2 buttons allow you to control your speed and the analogue stick or directional buttons let you switch between the four available lanes, one at a time. The lanes are full of cars all moving at different speeds and you have to switch lanes as quickly as possible to pass cars and build up your speed.
Spread across 10 different tracks and 32 different game types (ranging from standard racing to a mode where your car bursts into flames allowing you to smash through other cars on the course) there's plenty in Pixel Junk Racers to keep you busy, and the addition of local multiplayer matches and online leader boards will keep you coming back time and time again.
