God of War II comes to PlayStation 2 this month - and to celebrate, we're giving away some suitably epic bounty in an exclusive competition. Over 18s only, though...
God of War was a huge hit in 2005 - and the second coming of Kratos sets the scene for one of the most memorable adventures ever to hit PlayStation 2. With new weapons and combat techniques to master, and spectacular settings that continue to draw from the riches of Greek mythology, God of War II is everything an action game should be.
To celebrate the return of the baldest, angriest god in PS2 history, we've organised an exclusive competition with some excellent prizes up for grabs. The winner will receive a PlayStation 3, plus a God of War II goody bag comprising a demo of the game, a Kratos action figure, the game's soundtrack on CD, and a strategy guide.
Nine runners-up will also receive a God of War II goody bag.
How do you win?
To enter the competition, you'll need to get creative with your crayons and come up with a new god, fit to join the existing crop at the top of Mount Olympus. Perhaps a God of Taxi Drivers is what's needed to keep things running smoothly up in the heavens, or a Goddess of Nylon Tracksuit Bottoms?
Once you've decided upon the god you'd introduce to the Greek pantheon, email an image of your creation - whether painted, drawn or produced using computer software - and email it to godofwar2@scee.net. Please submit your entry as a jpeg, no bigger than 800x600 pixels.
The best of the entries will be shown on this site, with winners selected on a mix of imagination and execution. Please see the terms and conditions below for more information, and note that this competition is open to those aged 18 and above - but please keep those entries clean...
"God of War II" Website Competition - Terms and Conditions
- This Competition is open to residents of Austria, Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom aged 18 or over except employees of Sony Computer Entertainment companies, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Competition.
- This Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
- No applications from agents, third parties or organised groups, or applications automatically generated by computer, will be accepted. No incomplete, illegible or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries not in accordance with the entry instructions will not be accepted.
- To enter, please design your own god and submit your entry, as a .jpeg file sized no larger than 800 x 600 pixels, to godofwar2@scee.net. Please ensure that you include your postal address, including postcode. Any entries that are indecent, immoral, defamatory, discriminatory, profane, portray illegal activities or infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties will be disqualified. Entrants who submit a design that is disqualified will be notified by e-mail.
- The closing date for receipt of entries is 23.59 GMT on June 1st, 2007.
- This Competition is limited to one entry per person. No entrant may win more than one prize.
- Responsibility is not accepted for entries which are lost, damaged or delayed for any reason whatsoever. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries will become the property of the Promoter.
- By submitting an entry, entrants agree that their design is a solo creation and assign all intellectual property rights in their design to the Promoter and waive any moral rights they may have in the design. Entrants agree to sign any documentation that may be required by the Promoter to evidence this.
- The winner is the person whose design is considered by the judges to display the best combination of imagination and execution. Runner-up prizes will be awarded to the next nine entries judged to be imaginative and well executed. The decision of the judges is final. The panel of judges will include at least one member who is independent from the Promoter. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prizes for alternatives of equal or greater value. No correspondence will be entered into.
- The winner will receive a PlayStation®3 home entertainment system delivered by recorded delivery post. Each of the nine runners-up will receive a God of War II prize pack which will be sent to them by recorded delivery post. No cash alternative will be offered.
- The winners will be notified by email within 28 days of the closing date. Each winner must claim their prize within 60 days of the notification. If any prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these terms and conditions.
- The winners' details (name and country) will be made available on eu.playstation.com within ten weeks of the closing date of this Competition.
- The Competition winners may be required to participate in publicity arising from this Competition.
- By entering this Competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller for the purposes of the administration of this Competition and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of these terms and conditions.
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
