James Bond returns to the big screen on 17th November courtesy of Sony Pictures, with Daniel Craig taking on the mantle of 007 in the 21st official film in the franchise's illustrious 44-year history. Based on Ian Fleming's novel of the same name, first published in 1953, director Martin Campbell has brought the very first literary outing of the iconic and swathe British spy hurtling into the 21st Century.

Returning to the roots of the character, Casino Royale introduces Bond before he receives his license to kill, exploring the assassinations that earn him his "00" status and his first mission for MI6.

Following a lead from Madagascar to the Bahamas, Bond uncovers a connection between Mollaka (Sebastian Foucan), the terrorist he was assigned to gather intelligence on, and Le Cheffri (Mads Mikkelsen), banker to the world's terrorist organisations, who plans to raise money in a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro.

With everything to play for, M (Judi Dench) sends 007 to outwit him and cripple the finances of Cheffri's organisation, assigning the beguiling Vesper (Eva Green) to chaperone Bond during the high risk card game. Dirty tricks and violence push the game to the very edge before reaching its terrifying climax.

Casino Royale is Bond at its traditional best, a blend of action, drama and intrigue, married with a stellar cast. With Daniel Craig, best known for his roles in Steven Spielberg's Munich and Oliver Hirschbiegel's The Visiting, making his debut in the signature role, expectation is high as a new chapter for Bond begins.
