FIFA 08 brings player awareness and coaching strategy to an unprecedented level. You now have the tools of a real pro at your disposal in this latest release of the FIFA series. This game goes far beyond getting the team formation right and getting a result.

Now it's about real footballer decisions, knowing where your teammates are and having the skill to bewilder each opponent. Off the pitch, decisions now have real consequences for your team as battling against the computer is the least of your worries. The new online play allows you to participate in interactive leagues, develop players as well as train to master positioning, attack and defence with the new pro controls and camera view.

The new pro camera angle positions you so close that you have a true player vision. Now you can understand how a real superstar player needs a sixth sense of footballing vision to take on the opposition and pick out a pass or shot.

In addition to the pro skills and view is a new mode called Be a Pro: Co-op Season that challenges you to master the same disciplines as a real professional football player - from positioning and tackling to anticipating an attack and passing.

In this new mode you can create a footballer and play an entire game as your creation. More than that, you can develop your footballer into an elite player over the course of the season. You will have to improve your abilities one skill at a time just as if you were a pro.

Playing with up to three friends, you can join your favourite club with each friend being fixed to their footballer. You can complete individual challenges to develop your footballer attributes and win glory for the squad. All the while you can compete with your friends to develop the best player before the end of the season.

From the moment you step on the pitch, FIFA 08 challenges you to think and react like a real football player by letting you dictate the action. New manual controls enable you to command the play with the ability to create through-passes and crosses.

Having control over the team and the play includes making the goalkeeper come out in one-on-one situations to deny the striker yourself. But make the decisive move in defence with new manual controls that enable you to use the right stick to switch defenders quickly.

Having a good overview of the team is more essential than ever before as strategic play is required to break down the opposition. The new defensive and positioning logic ensures players are in the right place at the right time, constantly considering all threats and opportunities.

It is not just the Pro camera view that brings you closer to the real game. Downloadable squad updates provide all the latest team stats and players. So relying on one player can help you win a match but if he is to leave then you will have to hope you have been practising your skills and strategy on the training ground.
