Getting to grips with the handling, keeping an eye on tyre and engine temperatures while using the g-force to manoeuvre, and slipstream to outthink the pack is at the heart of FORMULA ONE 06™.
Learning these skills with your favourite team is the challenge. Work through the gears of the learning curve with team orders, keeping you alert - breaking, steering, next corner, don’t let the car spin! The mind of an expert driver has to be alert to how the car is responding at all times, and that’s before the lights even go out.
Combining exhilarating speeds of over 170 mph with breaking to the lower gears for tight corners ensures that you and the car have to be at one and this is where the driving aids can really help.
Turning off all the help available will test your true racing skill, although a little hint here or there will help you improve. Still, nothing can help you deal with the other drivers as they battle with you and get it wrong too as they spin out and overheat in their cars, an amazing advance in real competitive driving on PSP.
Turning on all the aids will allow you to jump into the cockpit and post faster and faster laps. Before you know it, you’ll not need them any more and team tactics, manual gears and inching closer and closer to corners will drive you to win Grand Prixs, World Championships, build careers and set unbreakable lap times.
