Not another Simpsons tie-in! Not this time, it isn't...

The Simpsons has been one of the world's greatest ever televisual phenomenons. As we know, any phenomenon in any major media usually gets the full multimedia works applied, hence the burgeoning number of Simpsons videogames. So you may be interested to hear that Matt Groening is infiltrating the videogame industry again, only this time he is lending a knowing hand to the development of SCi's Futurama, the game of his more recent TV series success.

The game features the vogue aesthetic of cel-shading, which is more intriguing than usual given that the graphical style is almost identical to the look of the original TV show. You can play as the famous Fry, Leela, Bender and Dr. Zoidberg (at least for one level), and also interact with other side-splitting characters from the 31st century. In your mission (which is a third-person action adventure) to prevent Mom from acquiring control over the entire universe, you must do battle with the fearsome hover-bot death troopers, while exploring such varied and intriguing environs as New New York and the decrepid old New York, along with the unmistakable HQ of Planet Express. With a script written by the show's creators, and with all the voice talents of the original actors on board, Futurama: The Game is being called 'The Lost Episode of Futurama', and that's not far wrong.

  • 21 futuristic levels

  • A plot epitomising the TV show's lunacy

  • 3 big boss battles

  • A range of 31st century locations to investigate

  • Four playable characters, each with their own abilities to master
